Maui has a long history of great men's rugby. Recent accomplishments include the 2006 Hawaii State Championship and MVP and Runner up at the Kalihi Raiders Winter Tournament 2007.
2009 shows signs of being a great season for the club. We have 67 men who have registered with us, 45 of whom are still university aged players, and this does not count the U19s who "play up" of which we have more than a handful. See the current Roster at the bottom of this page.
Pita Totua (black Mana O Maui shirt with orange Spartan symbol below) was recently elected captain, unanimously, and is assisted by a selection committee voted on by the team members, representative of all 3 major areas of the island where rugby is popular, Lahaina, Kahului and Kihei. We have a very balanced team when it comes to talent in both the forwards and backs, and a good balance of youth and experience. So we are looking forward to a great season. The men are off to a good start, winning 3 of the first 4 matches of the season, including the most recent match on Oahu on March 14, 2009.
